AV Systems Design at Boston College

The 72,000 square foot Yawkey Athletics Center, attached to the north side of Alumni Stadium, houses Boston College’s varsity football program plus classrooms and offices used by the athletic program.

Working from a design by ACT Associates of Storrs, CT, ADTECH Systems engineered and installed a number of state-of-the-art AV systems that help make the Yawkey Center one of the nation’s most technologically advanced athletics centers.

Among that technology is a real-time annotation system that enables coaches to play back game video, freeze an image where needed, then annotate the image using a separate touch-sensitive flat panel display.

We integrated this technology into multiple classrooms plus the offensive and defensive line rooms. We also installed audio/video systems for the Center’s weight room, locker room, lunch room and players’ lounge.

Shown above: Integrated AV systems in large and small classrooms which include projection systems, custom lighting and lighting control (with shade control), complete audio systems, control systems, and the annotation over video system using Crestron touchscreens.

Also shown are the Offensive and Defensive Line Rooms, which also include the touch-screen annotation over video system, projection, sound, custom lighting and system and system control.

The lunch room and large meeting hall shown include two HDTV projectors with electric screens, advanced audio, satellite television integration, as well multiple display sources, custom lighting and shading system, all controlled by a custom programmed Crestron control system utilizing multiple wall-mounted touch-screens and a master touch-screen control panel.

The weight room, locker room and players’ lounge include multiple LCD and plasma screens plus audio, and AV and lighting controls.
