Multi-Room System at Boston Financial Firm

When this Boston-based private equity investment firm moved into a new headquarters, they asked ADTECH Systems to install the AV. Working from designs by CMS AudioVisual Consulting of Melville, NY, we engineered, programmed and installed systems in almost 20 conference rooms throughout the facility.

One of the challenges of this project was the need to work with the various trades in a union job site in downtown Boston. Programming was complex as well, with facility-wide networked controls and help desk functions using Crestron RoomView. That being said, however, the work went very smoothly, helping to establish great long-term relationships between ADTECH Systems, the client and the consulting firm.

In the boardroom, we installed a system with projection, sound, audio conferencing and touch screen control, mounting the projector in a rear projection room featuring a rigid glass screen.

Rear projection provides increased contrast when ambient light is high. In this case, the system allows our customer, most often, to leave the windows undraped, taking advantage of the daylight and preserving a spectacular view. This type of system is also very quiet, since the projector and ancillary equipment are housed in a separate space.

We also designed and installed two video conferencing rooms, each with a 50" flat-panel display, high-definition codec, pan-tilt-zoom camera and table microphones. The company uses them for high-level meetings with managers, portfolio companies and investors throughout the world.

A multi-purpose room provides a place for large staff meetings, as well as space for staff to relax. The projection system and flat-panel display have inputs for laptops and DVD as well as cable TV. We wired the tables with microphone jacks and included wired and wireless mics to facilitate "town meetings" where staff can get together on important issues or communicate from office to office via an audio conferencing system.

In addition to these five rooms, we installed systems in a number of multimedia conference rooms, each with a flat panel display and sound system showing cable TV, DVD, VCR and laptop inputs plus audio conferencing.

Finally, we installed audio conferencing systems in 14 additional rooms, facilitating communications between staff, investors and portfolio companies.
