Tandberg Video Conferencing and Tandberg Service

Tandberg, already number one in market share for video conferencing systems, has become even stronger with their 2010 purchase by Cisco Systems.

ADTECH Systems has integrated Tandberg products for many years, and we are certified as a Tandberg Premier Partner, recognized for our ability to design, program, install, service and upgrade Tandberg and Cisco video conferencing, telepresence and network infrastructure products, including bridges, gateways, firewall transversal products, recording systems and content servers.

That employee base is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced of any AV integrator anywhere. Our engineers average over ten years of AV industry experience and our programmers over five. Each of our project managers has been with the company for at least 10 years.

We are also experienced implementing the AES-encrypted calling that Tandberg pioneered.

We often work with our clients on a design/build basis, handing needs analysis, system design, installation, programming and support services. We also regularly work with AV consultants, schools and government entities on a public bid basis, implementing a finished design spec.

Here’s an example of a recent project we worked on.

MIT Sloan School of Management

When the MIT Sloan School began work on a new academic building, they hired the Cambridge, MA- based AV and acoustical consultant, Acentech, Inc. to handle the initial needs analysis and design specifications, and to help them choose an AV integrator. Acentech chose ADTECH Systems on the basis of our expertise and ability to do cost-effective work.

Starting from Acentech’s design specifications and drawings, the ADTECH engineering department prepared extensive installation documents, specifying and illustrating exactly how the new systems would be configured, wired and installed. We purchased the components, fabricated equipment racks, and programmed the control systems, audio processors, Tandberg codecs and other digital components. As the general contractor finished construction in each area of the new building, our technicians pulled cable, installed the new equipment, configured it and tested it on site.

The AV systems are extensive: we installed video conferencing and distance learning systems in four tiered lecture halls, four classrooms, 35 study rooms, an executive dining room and a lobby/dining area. The lecture halls, classrooms and 25 of the study rooms include high definition Tandberg video conferencing endpoints.

Like many audio visual projects today, the MIT Sloan School project was as much an IP network installation as an installation of audio and video gear. All of the Tandberg systems we installed there are IP-based: that is, all of the video and audio signals are carried via MIT’s campus-wide network or the public Internet. Within the facility, all of the audio and video signals going to monitors, projectors and sound systems are carried over Crestron Digital Media cable and equipment, which is a very high-bandwidth IP network system designed for high-definition signals.

Working with Tandberg’s engineering staff, ADTECH Systems also upgraded MIT’s video conferencing infrastructure. The new MIT video head end allows single-user Tandberg systems across campus to connect on multipoint calls; and it allows callers with ISDN-based systems or PC-based systems to connect with the MIT endpoints. New Tandberg content servers allow MIT to record classes or meetings taking place in the videoconference-equipped rooms, then stream them live over the Internet or store them on an on-demand server for student and faculty access. Faculty or students may choose to record distance learning classes or video meetings, or they may record local classes and meetings using the rooms’ video and audio gear.

ADTECH System has the skills an experience for successful completion of simple to complex jobs. We hope you will contact us as you begin to plan your new Tandberg video conferencing system or whenever you need Tandberg service.
