Analysis of a Laminate with Transverse Crack

ALTRAC is an application that does stress analysis of symmetric composite laminates containing the transverse crack. This application can be used to study the stress in the vicinity of transverse cracks in composite laminates.

ALTRAC performs the following operations

  • Analyzes symmetric laminates, including hybrids
  • Has a library of materials for convinient computations
  • Determines the ply stresses casued by an applied displacement condition
  • Calculates and plots the interlaminar stresses at various ply interfaces.

Characteristics of the Software

  • The Stresses determined are for only one loading case (Uniaxial applied displacement)
  • The program does not analyze unsymetric laminates
  • The maximum number of layers is ten in half thickness of symmetric laminate
