Crack
Track System Applications |
The
CrackTrack system has been successfully used on DCB specimens with
universal testing machines at AdTech’s experimental mechanics
laboratory. Figure below show the system being used to test a DCB
specimen on a test machine. The crack gage has 25 wire breaks with
a sensitivity of 0.25”. The crack gage has an adhesive base
and is mounted on the specimens very easily. There is no need for
using insulated tabs or grips for the test machines. |

The calibration chart above shows a typical DCB test carried out with and without crack gage on the specimens. As is evident from the picture, the gage does not impart any additional strength to the specimen. The crack tip data captured using the CrackTrack system is also shown in the figure |
